Why do people get vitamin B12 shots?
While diet may provide adequate B12 for most people, some can have difficulty absorbing this essential vitamin. Long-term deficiency can cause a variety of health problems, from tiredness, loss of appetite and depression to damage to the nervous system.
B12 injections may be helpful for:
- Calming stress and fatigue
- Increasing energy and focus
- Improving memory and heart health
- Reducing the incidence of anemia (especially important for vegetarians)
B12 injections bypass the digestive system and provide a greater rate of absorption.
